The house rules
Welcome to Nutmego. By using the site you agree to a small set of ground rules — the gist is “play fair, don't break things, and we'll do our best for you in return.”
The gist
- You can play for free. There's no money on the line — it's for bragging rights.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. Don't share your password.
- Be a decent human in your league. No harassment, hate, or impersonation.
- We do our best to keep the site up and the scoring right, but no guarantees — it's a free game built by a small team.
- You can leave any time. We'll keep our end clean.
Your account
One account per person. Make sure the email you sign up with is actually yours, and the display name and handle you pick aren't pretending to be someone else (especially a real public figure or another player).
You're the one on the hook for what gets done from your account, so keep your password to yourself and sign out on shared devices. If you suspect someone's in your account, email hello@nutmego.com and we'll help you lock it down.
Predictions, leagues, and power-ups
- Your predictions and power-ups lock at kickoff. Once locked, they're final — same for everyone, so the standings stay honest.
- A league admin sets the scoring mode, which power-ups are allowed, and the bonus questions. Joining a league means accepting those settings for that league.
- We use live match data from a third-party provider. Sometimes that data is late or wrong. When it is, we'll do our best to fix the standings — but minor timing or scoring oddities mid-match are part of life.
- If we spot abuse — bots, sock-puppet accounts, anyone trying to game the system — we'll undo the damage and take action on the offending accounts.
What's not allowed
The short list of things that'll get you a polite warning or, if you keep going, your account closed:
- Harassing or threatening other players, in-app or in your league chat.
- Pretending to be someone you're not, including impersonating staff.
- Trying to break the site — scraping at scale, abusing the API, probing for vulnerabilities without telling us first.
- Running multiple accounts to inflate your standings.
- Using Nutmego for anything illegal in your country.
Found a security issue? Please tell us responsibly — email hello@nutmego.com before posting it publicly. We'll respond and credit you.
No money, no gambling
Nutmego is a free-to-play prediction game. Nothing on the site is a wager and no real-world prize depends on the outcome of any match. We may use bookmaker odds as a scoring input, but that's a mechanic — not a bet.
Your stuff
Your display name, handle, avatar, and predictions are yours. By using Nutmego you give us a narrow licence to show them inside the app — your league-mates see your standing, the scores feed shows your picks once a match kicks off — but we don't resell or repurpose your content beyond running the game.
What we promise (and what we don't)
We try hard. We test, we monitor, we fix bugs quickly. But we can't promise the site will never be down, that scoring will never have a hiccup, or that every email will reach your inbox. You're using Nutmego “as is” — if something doesn't work the way you hoped, the most we can really do is try to fix it and apologise.
Because this is a free game, we can't take on legal liability for losses tied to it — bragging-rights heartbreak included. Whatever local consumer-protection rights apply to you in your country still stand; nothing here cancels them out.
Ending things
You can delete your account any time from the danger zone on your profile page. If you keep breaking the rules, we may close your account — we try to warn first when we can.
Changes
When we change something important on this page, we'll tell you before it takes effect. Small clarifications we just ship.
